Soup Lover

My little buddy is a real soup lover. I haven't been cooking for almost 3months by now, since I started working, which also means that we have been eating out everyday for the passed 3months.

I chose to 'tapau' instead of cooking because it is not only time and cost efficient, but also convenient as well as a balance diet (I thought!) as we got to have at least 3 different dishes (vege+poultry). On the other hand, I will only cook 1dish the most as two of us can never finish anything more..

However, it seems that we start seeing the cons side (or side effects) of eating out. Jayden has become so pale and weak. He always falls sick which is very worrisome. Thus, I am determined to cook again. I have been cooking for the passed one week and Jayden has been eating very very well!!

In fact, I am not cooking any sort of dish, but only a pot of soup to go with rice everyday, and he LOVES it!!! Good thing is he eats more than usual, and he is a definite soup lover! I dare to say that he finishes 3/4 of the whole pot of soup daily!!! How much is 3/4 pot?? I think it is about 1liter... That's hell a lot!! :o)

I am very happy, grateful and satisfied now! Happy is because I can cook for my little buddy, grateful because my little buddy is eating well, and satisfied because my little buddy loves my soups!!

But seriously, even myself found the soups are really really good lately.. Hehehe.. It must be COOKING with LOVE.. I am a Grateful Mom!! :o)

Bedtime = PooPoo Time

This routine has been on-going for quite a long long time..

Mommy: JJ, it's bedtime! Let's get to bed..

Jayden: Mommy.. Mommy.. Poo Poo.. Poo Poo..

Can you understand why he always chooses to do his big business during sleeping time?? I guess Mommy knows why.. he will sit on his potty for at least 30min to watch his fav movies or play his fav toys.

Ain't todays kids really outsmart us?? :P

Mandarin

Jayden: Mei you liao...

Oh, now my little buddy is speaking in Mandarin! :o)

It happens after we had a call conference with popo (grandma) today that Jayden suddenly speaks in Mandarin. Well, popo speaks with JJ in Mandarin though as we (my family) is Mandarin speaking.

Guess our little buddy starts to diverse his language scope now.. This is the time he tends to pick up a lot of new words and languages as he attempts to repeat after things that he hears.

Perhaps this is the time that I should look into some Mandarin speaking activities for him to expose him to proper Mandarin. :o)

Cantonese

Just now Jayden said his first complete sentense in Cantonese.. He had to repeat it twice for me to catch what he said as I was expecting him to converse in English. Hehe..

This is what he said: "Bread hei goh dou" (Bread is there)

This morning, MIL told me that he speaks with him in Hakka too!! Wow.. He is good!! Hahaha.. :o)

I think it is really cool! Hehehe.. :o)

Fever Fever Go Away

The weather is hot like crazy for the whole week!! There's no rain for a while and the weather turns hot and dry.. A lot of people around us have been getting sick and this is no other than us.

We have been suffering from flu to heavy cough, almost nonstop for a few months. It was like we're finally recovered before we knew another came keeping us down. :o(

Worst, fever suddenly came out of nowhere and got our little buddy down this time. We both suspect it was due to the hot weather. It's all my fault!! I turned off the aircon in Jayden's room and forgot to leave the door open during his nap. Ventilation was really bad and his room was hot as oven when Daddy went in to check on Jayden.

Since then on, his body was a little heated up and we thought it will be gone after a while. Who knows after a few hours, his body temperature was on a rise and Alas! Fever was here!! :o(

With the temperature maintaining at 38.1C-38.5C, I couldn't help but to give him Paracetamol and lots of water. Not just that, we are skipping school because I would love him to have some rest at home to speed up recovery.

Let's hope the fever will begone in no time!!

Unhappy Mother's Day

Yesterday, I bought a small jelly cake for myself. It's Mother's Day today!! :o)

I thought of a simple no-celebration at home just with the jelly cake for all of us as a symbol of celebration. The time came just now, I took out the cake, put on the accessories (candle & MD's tag) and lit on the candle (syok sendiri heh!!!).

Jayden started singing "Happy Birthday" song enthusiastically (you know he is singing this song despite all the missing word and funny rhymes. I am very happy. Immediately I tried to record it in my phone camera, recording Jayden, Daddy and the cake.

However, I was shunned away with a very unfriendly half-shouting tone from Daddy saying "Why the hell are you recording? I haven't even combed my hair!!"

I was very hurt indeed. :'( It's not like I am going to post it to the public for viewing. I just wanna keep a copy for myself to remember the day. It's also the first time Jayden sang me a Happy Birthday song. Well, at least this is something I am happy and gratitude about.

Anyway.. it's passed. Let's just say it's the most unhappy Mother's Day I have ever had.

My..........

Few days ago, Jayden suddenly surprised me with his understanding of "my".. All these while, Jayden has never been using the word "my" and I did not use it frequently too.

Most of the time, I will either say the person's name (or the way Jayden calls them, ie Mommy, Daddy, etc). I hardly use the word "my, your, his, her (and so on)" to ease his understanding.

That's why when he started saying "my shoes", "my bottle", "my bag".... (the list goes on), I AM SURPRISED!!!

I think this is a very good improvement! :o)

Heart Wrenching - Burned Hand

On Monday, a heart wrenching incident took place when I was taking a shower.

Jayden switched on the power connecting to the iron and burned his palm and fingers, quite badly. All the sudden, he cried very loudly which I could identified at once (from his cries) that something really bad happened.

Out jumped me out of the bathroom to check on him and only to find out his hand was burned! I was a lil upset with Daddy actually because I did tell him to take care of Jayden before I went into the bathroom. Who knows Daddy hadn't been paying any attention to Jayden but his movies.

Many times, I just couldn't understand why Daddy can't just spend some good times playing with Jayden. Sigh..
