Swimming Lesson #2

We went for Jayden's second swimming lesson on last Sunday. JJ was all excited when he saw his swimsuit. And insisted to have it put on!

Happily, we all reached there very early this time, as I thought it would be better to catch the earlier lesson in case the weather will turn rainy. The weather has been very unpredictable lately so I thought I should have made the right choice.

Only to know that I completely made the wrong choice when we were there!!! It was so sunny and hot, all of us were burning our skin under the hot sun!! Seriously, we all turned charcoal, there were vivid sun-tanned lines on me, my face is darken by a few shades!!! All my whitening hard work over the years was gone!!! Dang..

As for JJ, he has very distinctive imbalance skin tones on his arms and legs.. He has gotten so dark too!! I hate myself for making my baby look so tanned.. Hahaha

As for hubby, I guess he is the one enjoying his sun-tan the most.. Not during the water session, but after effect. His skin color is more balance now, comparing to his super dark hands and super fair chest. Now, he looks much macho.. Hahaha..

Swimming Lesson with New Instructor

Last Sunday marks the day Jayden started his very first swimming lesson with the new instructor Jordan.

Jordan is a local swimming coach/instructor that has a totally different set of believes in training children to swim. He uses a more subtle way rather than forcing Jayden to "drown" (instead of swim) totally unprepared which happened to the British instructor that we had before.

I am very happy that our first lesson turned out totally awesome! Jayden enjoyed his lesson so much. Throughout the lesson, he was spending time with us all the time, as the instructor only observed from time to time from the side, and told us what to do next, from time to time.

I was so surprised that Jayden refused to leave the pool in the end of the lesson which was totally contradicting with his experience with the previous instructor. After the lesson, we could stay on for an extra 15min so we brought him to the children pool. You wouldn't believe this but he totally was in love with it after knowing his feet could reach the bottom of the pool!!! I would never forget the expression on his face when he first stood on the children pool. :o)

Next day, he held his swimming suit and told me "ngo oi".. Then I asked him if he wanna go swimming and he said while nodding his head "hmmm.. ngo oi". Isn't it awesome!! :o)

Even though the location of the swimming lessons is considerably inconvenient and far from our house, it is still worth the effort. :o)

Swim Lesson 1

Jayden has a new breakthrough today!

At 9.30am this morning, Jayden attended his first swimming lesson. Sure enough, Jayden has gotten a shocked, nevertheless Mommy was shocked too!!!

Imagine I have to practically drown Jayden in the water, even though it was just for a little while.. Ouch!!! And there was like no chance for him to say NO, even though he kept saying NOooooo..

There were about 6 toddlers in the class and about 3 of them were wailing.. Jayden was one of them!! Gulping in a lot of chlorine water, lots of NO NO NO and wailing throughout the session.. :o(

Anyway, the lesson was quite an interesting one. We started with "blowing bubbles", it was an activities with some squeaky toys and we demonstrate to them how to blow bubbles in the water.

Then, we had some songs trying to settle the young toddlers in the water, particularly Mulberry Bush as a start to we can wash their faces and hair. LOLs... It was a nasty experience as the water was considerably cold this morning!

We also have The Wheels on the Bus to let them experience the movements of legs and arms in the water. And worst, we have Ring-a-Rosie where we slightly drown them for them to learn to "blow bubbles". Yicks!

On the other hand, we took turns to let the toddlers swim over to the instructor, it was about 0.5m-1m distant. Yup, face down in the water with lotsa drinking too.. Jayden was choking and coughing after that session! :o(

The easiest would be to have Jayden one-hand holding the bar, the other holding my hand, and asked him to release the hand on the bar and hold my other hand. Then Jayden has to climb up to the side of the pool and then jump into the water on the count of 3!! Apparently he didn't jump in until I stretched my hands around his arms. LOLs..

Hmmm.. I hope he will enjoy his next lesson more.. Hehehe.. :P

Pool Fun @ Home

About few weeks ago, Mommy managed to find a 4ft round pool for Jayden. Jayden's first time playing in the pool was exhilarating and crazy! He went spinning, sleeping, rolling and splashing in the pool (of cuz the water was super shallow) with hell a lot of shouts and noises.. However, Mommy didn't get to take any pictures.. Forgetful Mommy! :o(

This is the second time we are playing in the pool, to be exact Jayden was in and Mommy was out of the pool playing with him.. For some reasons, Jayden wasn't as excited as the first time.. Perhaps due to a lot of kids noises from the playground that made him envious and wanted to go to the playground instead of playing in the pool..

Anyway, Mommy took some pictures this time.. :o)

Big boy in the pool!! :o)
