Good Sense of Directions

Again, I am surprised by Jayden's new-found talent. He has unbelievably good sense of directions.

For example, while going back to our old house, I will normally drive pass a playground in that area, Jayden will say "mama" (grandma). He also knows the route we use to go home as whenever we are about to pass by the playground outside our community, he will try to stand up, look up and point to that playground and say "hah!"

Not just that, when we go somewhere using the common road that I use, he knows exactly where he will be seeing his favorite forklifts (in a few locations throughout the route). He will lift his head up searching for it while his mouth says "bit bit" (forklift).

If I am not mistaken, there were a few times when we were on the way to Daddy's office and I heard him saying "pa" when we were around Daddy's office.. I wonder what landmark that he spotted to identify we're somewhere nearby Daddy's office. Hehe..

Two word sentence

It is very surprising to me that Jayden has been trying to speak in a two-word sentence lately. Despite his vocabulary is very limited, I think he has finally speaks more than 10words whether or not the pronunciation is accurate (I seriously lost count, maybe I am not counting.. hehe).

The two-word sentence that he commonly uses are papa mum-mum (daddy's eating), mah baht (mom's bathing/going to bath) and... err.. can't think of any right now. Hahaha..

Singing

All these while, Jayden likes musics and songs. As he is still not good in talking, I think it may take quite some time before he can really sing. To my surprise, he has been humming songs quite frequently, even though I can never tell what song it is.. Hahaha..

Lately, he can also follow some lyrics - one word from a sentence!! Hahaha.. :P I seriously wonder when my little precious will be able to sing a song to mommy.. Hehehe

Shopping Madness

Shopping has been made extremely difficult with my little monster around. It is almost impossible to go shopping alone with him. Therefore most of the time I reserved my shopping till Sundays so Daddy is around.

The little monster is not just fussy but whenever he eyes on something that interests him, he will go all the way for it. Meaning he will run, crawl, struggle, cry, wail, scream, shout, whatever you may think of.

There was a time that all the crowd diverted their attentions to us just because Jayden was screaming, crying and wailing like someone was kidnapping or torturing him. It was really an embarrassing moment for us. What an experience.. and I don't wish to experience it another time!!!

Egg Yolk

About 2 weeks age, we tried to feed Jayden on egg yolk to check on his allergy. It seems like the allergy test is negative!!! I am still not 100% sure if Jayden is OK with egg yolk as we gave him only a small teaspoon of egg yolk. Perhaps I will try baking with egg yolk and see if there is any changes. Fingers cross..

Soccer Kid

Last month, Jayden has learned to throw a ball overarms. I read that it is a skill that they may need longer to get a hang of so I didn't expect him to be able to do that at this stage. Other than surprised at his physical skills, I am glad that he learned! :)

Currently, Mommy is grooming her little man to be a soccer kid!! Hahaha.. Jayden shows quite an intense interest in kicking balls so I tried to join in his game and we have loads of fun! I am amazed by the skills that he potrays.. he doesn't only know how to kick a ball but he will chase the ball and play defense too!!! Wow... amazing huh!!

Little 21-Month

Suddenly I come to realize that my little fussy man is already 21 months!!! Wow.. No wonder some of my friends are already going for the No.2!! :P

Slightly passing 20th month, Jayden has become a little handyman.. he likes to help around the house.. sweeping, mopping, throwing garbage, arranging furnitures, cleaning up toys, etc.

Not just that, he has been insisting to eat all by himself too. Many times, he refused to eat when I am feeding him. I am glad that he would like to take charge of his own stuffs. :o)

This little fussy man would also choose his own shirts and pants to wear, sometimes I may be able to persuade him to wear what I like. Hehehe.. But I guess soon enough he will be stubborn enough to listen to mommy.. Uh-oh..

He will throw tantrum when he didn't get things done his way, and especially when he wants my attention and I respond to him slowly. Other than that, I respect his preferences and interests as I think this is where his sense of 'self' starts growing. However, I still keep some restrictions on his behaviors that may affect safety.

Not just that, he has been waking up extra early at 7am (he used to wake up at 830am) and goes to bed extra late at 10pm (used to sleep at 830pm). Since he didn't show any sign of exhaustion throughout his routine, I guess he has gotten enough rest. :o)

Potty Training??

I guess it is time to potty train my little dearie.. He always takes his diaper to me when he pees on his diaper.. yes, he wants it to be changed every time he peed though it may not be wet!!! And that costs me a bomb!!

Reason being I have not started potty train him? He has outgrown his baby potty (which I have never used) and I still couldn't find out that fit his small butt, either it's too big, or too small!! Haih...

Perfectionist

Time flies and Jayden is touching 21 months in 6 more days!!! There are a lot of things that I have been missing out.. I seriously don't know what I have missed out as everything seems to be quite normal and common to me.. :P

From the accumulation of some daily incidences, I think Jayden is quite a perfectionist little buddy.. Now, he would like me to finish dressing him properly, meaning with pants.. while waiting for me to get his pants, he will look at his little 'buddy' and then pull his shirt to cover it. Muahaha..

He will push the drawer all the way in whenever he saw any that isn't.. He will pick up rubbish and throw it into the dustbin.. When I check his diaper and he sees the diaper is used (pee stain), he will insist to have a new diaper.. He will throw his used diaper into the dustbin..

Recently, he will take out the broom and sweep the floor too!! :P Oh, nevertheless, he has been eating by himself most of the time, averagely about 95% I'd say.. and so far so good!!! In fact, he surprised a lot of people when we dine out.. and of course, I am very proud of his eating skills too. :o)

Oh one more thing.. considering this is perfect too.. he has a perfect eyesight!! Most of the time I will have to search for what he was trying to tell me.. though he still hasn't been really speaking, but guess only mommy knows what he means.. :P

Firetruck

Jayden is in love with firetruck lately.. Well he falls in love with firetruck for a while already, but engrossed with it lately.. Haha..

He insists to watch Barney's "Firetruck" shows all the time without fail. Not just that, whenever the firetrucks appears on the show, he will shout "Wowowowowww!!" He is sooooooooo CUTE!!! I can't stop laughing admiring his expression every time!! :o)

I just love watching all his expressions all the time.. I found it so cute.. Sometimes when I was bored at night, I will just lay down beside him, smelling and admiring him.. :)

I accept you MEAT! :P

Finally Jayden accepted meat into his life.. Hahaha.. He has been accepting meat since we moved to our new home. I had been cooking chicken and pork in our dishes and I am surprised that he likes them. Any chances that mommy's cooking is good??? Hahahaha.. :P

Jokes aside, I am pretty happy that finally Jayden is taking some meat. Previously, I need to crush the meat to tiny until it is barely there so Jayden will eat them with the rice. If it happened to be a small tiny bite size of meat, he will spit it out having the meaty feeling in his mouth.

Now, he not just eats them but I found him choosing and spooning some meat off the rice to eat.. I am happy not because he is a meat eater but because he is achieving a somewhat balance diet now despite the fact that he can't take so many types of food. :o)

Self Feeding

Since we moved to our new home, Jayden has been 90% self feeding himself, be it eating or drinking. It seems that there is barely any spills drinking from a cup, yup, he has mastered the skill of drinking with a cup without spilling by now.

However, sometimes I may find patches of water/liquid on the floor. It happens so often when he walks with a cup of water/liquid. For some reason, he will hold the cup slanting forward about 70degree when he walks with a cup. Haha.. The funniest thing is, after he found there is a spill, he would stop and look on the spill, while his hand would automatically slant the cup more to about 45degree!!! OMG...

As for eating, it is less messy now.. His hand-mouth coordination is pretty good now. He will also use the other hand to slightly lift up the bowl/plate to ease spooning when the food is running low. I am surprised that sometimes he was somewhat clean after meal.

New Home

Finally... we have moved to our new home!!! We have been waiting for this day for the passed 4 years and finally the property is completed.. Thank God! :)

It has been very tough for us as the contractor is under-delivering their works. They supposed to get everything done by July 24 and now is already Aug 13, and yet no sign that it will be done anytime soon at all!!!!

I can neither unpack nor assemble a lot of things as most of the cabinets and wardrobes are not ready yet. Practically the wet and dry kitchen, master bedroom and living room are undone!! Can you imagine that we have to stuff everything that belong to those places in our study room for the time being? It's a mess!!!

Meanwhile, our little man needs a bit of time to get used to our new home. The first day of our staying is undeniably a bit too harsh for mommy as Jayden is not used to having mommy within his vicinity. It is not a big house but comparing it to our room before, it is way way bigger.

On the third day, Jayden seems to be coping it pretty well. Of course there are still some whining and wailing on and off, but I think it's going pretty well. Today is the fifth day and it is amazing. Even though Jayden will still be looking for me but literally it is not as dramatic and consistent as we first moved in.

Not just that, Daddy has fixed up the big plasma and DVD player yesterday so Jayden gets to watch his favorite Barney show on our big 42" plasma. He was in overwhelmed!!

Meanwhile, Mommy found it super exhausting to be a homemaker.. cooking, washing, wiping, mopping, cleaning, bla bla bla.. you name it.. I am super exhausted and totally drained out in the end of everyday!!!

Despite all the new environment and adjustments, I am still super excited and glad that we have finally moved to our.. own new cozy nest!!!

New words

Jayden has been picking up more words lately.. I didn't note down most of them but since I remember the few now, I might as well just note them down.

ot = hot
bark = bark
bug = bug
num num / num na = yum nai (drink milk)
baht = bath tub
baba = daddy (He calls baba a lot lately!!! So daddy is very very flattered)
pakpak = pak pak and pak leong(Hubby's bro and his wife)
con = air-cond (air conditioner)
ooo = oh no
oh oh = uh oh
tlak = truck
jtar = star
met (in high pitch) = cat
bear = bear
bit bit = any reversing vehicles/wheels and forklift

Beep Beep

Lately I found out the 'bit bit' that Jayden always mentioned is no longer apply to only forklift. In fact, he has identified that the sound 'bit bit' applies to all reversing vehicles.

Whenever he saw a car reversing, he will say 'bit bit'. Even during his play time, he will purposely reverse his cars and say 'bit bit'. Well, not just cars.. it's everything on wheels actually.. Hehehe..

Sleep Changes

Jayden dozed off within seconds once I put him onto the cradle. He must have been really exhausted as he started showing sign of tiredness since 11.30am just now. It's my fault for not keeping an eye on the time and he slept at 1.20pm. :(

For the passed 2 weeks, Jayden's sleeping pattern has totally changed. He was no longer sleeping at 8pm. Instead, he dragged his time from 9pm to 9.30pm and now 10pm. Meanwhile, he is waking up at 8.30am, sometimes at 8am whenever it's a noisy morning.

He is still taking afternoon nap at 1pm sometimes 1.30pm, and lately due to mommy is too busy with moving stuffs sometimes Jayden has to nap at 2pm. He refuses to sleep unless he is brought home and has his Bluey and cradle. Fingers cross the moving will be ended soon so we can have our own very cosy nest. :o)

Sometimes he shows signs of lack of sleep but there seems like nothing can be done as he refused to sleep. He prefers playing than sleeping.. :( Somehow I still hope that he will have a better environment to grow up as well as to have proper rest, I mean without disturbance.. guess that can only happen when we moved to our new place!!

I can't wait for that to happen soon.. and we are counting down!!!!! :o)
