First Attempt to Walk

J walks by using the walker!!! I was dangling his toys with me and tried to excite him to come forward.. And after a few attempts, he managed to move forward and grabbed his toys!!! Yay!!!

And today, he has fun playing with his 'gor gor' cousin, Bryan. Taking some pictures and video of them playing. :)

J is so excited.. :)

Look @ J.. He laughs so hard.. LOL!! :)

This video clip features how much J likes to play.. :P

Gong Xi Gong Xi

Oh I forgot to write something.. Since a few days ago, I can't remember exactly how many days... J has been showing this action of "GongXi GongXi" to us..

I don't know when and where he has seen or learned this, but it is great for me to note it down here. Way to go baby J. :)

Papaya & Durian

After getting reassurance from a few friends who are more experienced mommies, I have J to try on a few fruits.. Since my mother in law grows papaya tree, we do have a constant supply of papaya from the tree -one at a time, as it is not a big papaya tree. :P

And since my mother in law prepared some papaya for us to relish, I secretly let my little precious J try on the papaya.. I make the papaya into small bits of chunks, and surprising enough, he wants more of it.. :P

Not just that, hubby and I bought a pack of durian from Tesco as it smells SooOOOooo GOOD!! It really smells so good that we just can't wait to have it.. so again, we secretly did something sinful in the car!! Opps.. hehe.. we "accidentally" have the whole pack of durian in the car.. it was sooOOOooo sinful.. the best and most sinful durian i've had this year.. :P

Of course, during the sinful feast, J was showing interest as usual. Therefore, I let him tried a little bit of it. Expecting him to show some grumpy faces.. Oh No!! He didn't!! Not just that, he wants more!!! Oh boy.. I really can't believe my little son would like durian..

So.. the first few rounds of papaya and durian look encouraging.. :P Hmmm... tempting... :)

J's Eat Out

This is the first time I bring food (porridge) to go out with me so J can have his meal together with us on the table. :)

It is a mesmerizing experience looking at J every movement while having his meal. However, J is too camera sensitive that whenever he is aware that I am capturing him with a camera, he will be too excited and stop eating altogether.

Oh my little child.. :)

Video 1: J is very excited that I capture him on camera, that's why he stops eating.. Aiks..

Video 2: Trying to capture J eating secretly.. well, he is also excited in this video because the couples on next table were trying to play with him.. Aiks Aiks..

Morning Call

Every morning, when J wakes up, he will smile, play and talk to himself. After a while, he will rollover on his tummy and look around, spotting for me. :P

Once he found out where I am, he will slowly turn to me.. he can slowly turn a bit about 45-90degree right now!! :) Then he will roll, turn, roll turn and so on until he is just right beside me.. And then he will use his head to knock on me to wake me up.. I think that's what he can do for the moment. :P

So normally I will make some sleepy grunting sounds.. and when he hears that.. he will start to find my hands.. he will hold my hand and start playing with it. And guess what, when he starts playing with my hand, it means he wants me to wake up and play with him.

And what's more?? Sometimes he will hold my hand and start to suckle, that means he wants to drink milk!! Sometimes, when he wasn't able to find my hand, and he is hungry, he will turn and roll until he is right beside my body, and starts to suckle my body.. :P

He is so small but yet I am amazed by the ways he expresses himself. Babies are so adorable.. :)

J in Walker

I forgot to video little J playing with his new toy.............. The WALKER!! :)

So today, I purposely put him into the walker and try to capture him in video!! Look at how adorable he plays with his new walker.. hmmm.. there are more for him to explore in this little piece of toy.. I just can't wait to see his new adventures.. :P

J's Cradle

Finally, we've got J a cradle.. well, I am still not sure if J enjoys it because he keeps twisting and turning whenever he is inside the cradle. Looks like he doesn't wanna sleep in it. Also, he needs me to keep swinging him, whenever I stop, he will start moving. Not just that, he also likes to turn upside down in the cradle (his face facing down), thus making a "net-ty look" all over his face.. Sigh..

And guess what, we bought the cradle because we want him to sleep longer and so I don't have to be there to rock him all the time.. But it doesn't seem to work the way I want yet.. Sigh.. :(

Anyway, perhaps J is just not used to it yet.. Let's see how things go after a week or so.. Maybe things will turn the way I want it to be.. and I will be freer to do the things needed to be done.. Hmmm.. need to boost up my efficiency level asap. :)

I didn't manage to get a nice shot of the cradle.. the quality of the pictures taken with my phone camera look a bit ugly.. but well.. hmmm.... the picture was taken when J was having his afternoon nap.. :P

Golden Mustard vs Peanut Butter

Hmmm.. how should I put this.. well.. for the passed few months, J's poops has been ever the same = Golden Mustard color and the texture looks just like stir fry egg with starch gravy (Cantonese: "wat dan" - "smooth egg" gravy).

Since J has been on solid for about 2 weeks by now, the texture of his poops has totally changed.. including the color. Yesterday, J did a big biz that looks exactly like "Smooth and Thick Peanut Butter".. Yes, That's including the texture and the color.. :P

However, the smell is.. hmmm.. I leave that to your imagination.. Hehe.. :P

Rocker aka Bouncer

The rocker is no longer suitable for my growing up J. Yesterday, he made a 180degree turn while sleeping in the rocker.. YES! That practically means he is upside down in the rocker. Not just that, he also accidentally knocked his head on the steel frame as he flipped from his tummy to his back.. HE CRIED!! Hehe..

And guess what happened today? His head was hanging out of the rocker in less than 2minutes.. It scared me like hell.. Well.. of course he cried for HELP!! Sigh.. My this son is getting so active that it sometimes scares me.. HMmm.....

This is J's current Rocker aka Bouncer

J's Walkie Rockie

Finally we have bought J a rocker! It looks pretty cool.. and seems like J likes it.. But I think it is a bit pricey..

Well in fact, we came across the same exact unit like 2-3 weeks ago when we were shopping in Jusco and there was a sale.. it was only RM129! And guess what, due to the fact that my hubby aka J's Daddy aka SL thought that Tesco or Giant may sell it at a cheaper price, we forgo the unit.

So yesterday, we have been touring Tesco, Giant and in the end back to Jusco and bought the same exact unit at RM189. Damn it!!! Should have bought it earlier as there was a sale!!! Learning experience.. Sigh..

Anyway.. this is the piece that we bought.. It is a 2 in 1 Baby Rocker and Walker. :)

J's Walker cum Rocker

This is how it looks like as a Rocker..

J and His Boats

J like his toy boats.. The boats are his new bathing toys and he likes them a lot. He would grab the boats on each hands everytime after bathing not letting me to take them away. And he will bring the boats with him to play on the bed.. :P

6.22.2009

Backwards

J is still learning new approaches for his mobility. Crawling is definitely a milestone that he will come to soon.. But before learning the skill, he is trying every multiple ways to get himself mobile for the time being.

Rolling from side to side has been what he is good at right now. However, whenever I placed his toys in front of him, he will cry for help in reaching them. Today, he did the same too.. CRY!! Haha.. I tried my best to support him from the back so he can push himself to the front with his legs.. and YES, he did it. :)

During the second time, I tried not to support him at all, and guess what happened to him? The more he pushes himself to the front, the more he goes backwards!! YES, he is moving farther away from his toys.. LOL :P

Not long after that, I put him into his rocker.. he needs a nap! As usual, he was moving about in the rocker, I know the rocker is small but well, he can do wonders there.. He accidentally threw his mini bolster to his feet.. and I thought it might be good just to leave it like that, since he wasn't moving like a worm anymore. :P

To my amazement, he hold the bolster with his two feet and "transporting" the bolster to his hands.. WOW!!! My little J is growing smarter.. hehe.. :P

Cradle (Sarung), Walker, HighChair

We have been looking for a nice high chair for quite some time. But for some reasons, we still couldn't find any that we like.

Today, we went to visit little Lucia, Yvonne and Leon. We like the highchair that Lucia is having. And we got to know that it is from IKEA. So we are going there to get it.. :P

While Lucia is fascinated with J's toys, we let J tried on her walker. Hmmm.. surprisingly J seems to like it.. though he hasn't learn that he can move with the walker. :P He move backwards a little when he was inside the walker.. I think very soon he will learn that he can get himself mobile with it.. On the other hand, I there are a lot of benefits (for me!!) by putting him in the walker.. Thus, we are going to get one for him.. :P

Not just that, during our visit there, J slept on Lucia's cradle.. and he slept for more than an hour!! Wow.. that's amazing.. Hmmm.. I said that is simply because J hardly sleeps for more than 30minutes nowadays.. And it is really tiring for me.. I think getting a cradle is a good idea afterall.. :P

Picky J

It's been 3days since J started eating congee. :)

Grandma is getting a lil' lazy today. Instead of making dried scallop pork congee, she made a plain tasteless pork congee without dried scallop. According to Vicky and Brian (J's cousins), the congee is tasteless and well.. they don't like it.

Without giving any suspicious thought, Grandma prepares some congee for lil' J, hoping that someone will like her congee today. To her surprise, when J tasted the first gulp, he was making noises.. Grandma was wondering hard if J felt that it's tasteless too..

Trying to convince herself that lil' J was not that smart, she kept on feeding her with the second spoon. J closed his mouth tight not wanting to eat. And when he opens his little mouth, Grandma quickly fed him, and he pushed everything out with his little tongue.. and made the sound "werrrr..." Hahaha..

Now we know.. little J is very picky on his food.. and what's more.. he isn't a dumb dumb on food.. no compromise.. lol..

J's First Congee

It's a BNI day again! :) As usual, Jayden spent his morning with Grandma..

Grandma did not feed J the rice cereal today, instead she made her "heartily home-cooked congee" for J! And according to Grandma, he ate without making any sign that he didn't like it. Hmmm.. it seems like J likes eating congee.. :P

Well, after 2 weeks of feeding J with solid, I am very sure to conclude that J does not like rice cereal. We have tried 3 types of rice cereals and he just refused it whenever we feed him with cereal.

Everytime it comes to meal time, I will have a bowl of cereal/congee and a cup cup of water. J will eye on the spoon whenever I scoop something - whether I scoop it from the bowl or the cup.

And guess what, he can differentiate and recognize it well.. Whenever I scoop something (water) from the cup, he will open his mouth, and whenever I scoop something (rice cereal) from the bowl, he will close his mouth tight and make the vomit sound.

Surprising enough, when I feed him with congee now, he does not make any vomitting sound. Not just that, he will open his mouth and said "ummm". Wow!!! I'm super happy.. :)

So, finally, I can conclude that J loves to drink water and eat congee.. :)

J & Cute Lil' Ducklings

Finally, we've got J his bathing buddies - the duckling team!! Yay!! =)

Before we bring J to have his bathing time, we get him to know his buddies first.. I am yet to name the little ducklings.. hmmm.. time to ponder.. :P

Sayang..

There is always these things that I always said I wanna record in my blog yet I always forgot. Since I remember it now, I might as well just put down some points so I can edit when I have more time to do so. :P

J has been very profocient in grasping things that we pass to him.. But lately, there is more than just grasping.. sometimes when he was lying beside me.. he will touch me like the way we touch others when calling them.. During the first time, I thought he just uses his hands to grasp something.. but after a few rounds of experiencing it, I found out that he indeed calls us by touching us (as he still doesn't speak).

Here is something more touching.. Lil' J has also learned to use his hands to touch my face.. no he didn't scratch but TOUCH!! Very soon, I figure out that he did that as a sign of "SAYANG".. Because from one hand, now he learned to 'sayang' us with two hands touching on our cheeks.. I was so happy that I felt like crying when he did that.. now, he would do it every now and then.. I am so HAPPY!!

Mommy loves you so much Jayden. :)

What? Turning 360Degree??

Today, I put lil J lying on his tummy.. just to ensure that he has a little of his tummy time, since it's been ages I didn't do that. What a lazy mom I am.. Hehe..

On the other hand, I placed some of J's favorite toys on around him, just to make sure that he has his toys in every angle that he eyes on.. so he won't make to much noises.. Hehe.. :P

As usual, I turned on my laptop to get some things done. About 10minutes later, J was on his back.. playing with his toys. I continue with my works.. And suddenly, when I turned to him, he was making a flip back to his tummy.. that's not something I have never seen before.. but to my surprise, he turned to his right to grab his toys.. and round and round in a circle.. Guess what, he did a whopping 360degree turn!!!

WOw.. I was so amazed with what he was doing but I forgot to capture a video of that!!! Dang!! Well, I am so proud of him.. I ain't sure where and when he learned that, but well.. I think he will learn to crawl very soon.. :)

6.10.2009

Graspy & Snatchy

Nowadays, I can hardly carry lil J with control. He has turned to be a mini monster-ish J.. lol

J would turn from left to right, right to left, up to down, down to up.. he will even arch backward to make things harder for me.. Practically every direction that you can think of.

Not just that, things get tougher for me whenever there any objects around us. J would lean forward to reach, grasp and pull everything that he eyes on.. Nevertheless, whenever we have something on you hands.. we can never escape his snatching.. Yes! He knows how to snatch things from us..

Therefore, carrying J has become really tough for me, adding to his 8kg body weight, is the twisting and turning and pulling that adds more weight to it. I wonder if that's how I get back nexk shoulder and back pain worsen nowadays.. sigh..

6.07.2009

Seperation Anxiety

I start to feel that J starts to recognize the people around him since about a week ago. And hoping that he will not be too clingy to me, I always bring him out to meet new people and let different people carry him.

However, it seems that the s0-called nightmare comes.. Haha.. It's getting more and more obvious that J is getting clingy to me.. Whenever I let someone else carry him, he will look at me and if I walk away, he will cry..

And not just that, during our badminton session yesterday, he has been crying so hard for as long as my badminton session. And I could hear his super loud cries even though my friends carried him out for a walk so he would not see me..

Oh boy, I wish he will get this seperation anxiety over asap..

Curiosity to Learn

Jayden's curiosity to learn is growing each day. There are many things that amaze and amuse him, and his repetitions of the same actions enhance his skills in multiple aspects that seem so ordinary to us, yet profound to him.

For the passed few days, J has been grabbing his spoon whenever we fed him with it. He will grab the spoon tight enough and push it towards his mouth, that's when feeding him solid becomes harder.

We have to be extra careful while feeding him especially when his hands come into action, as we can't afford to lose control over the spoon or the consequences will be painful.

I'm blessed to be able to experience together with J his step by step journey of growth, development and exploration everyday. :)
