Christmas Tree 2012

Finally, our Christmas tree is up!! Yay!!

We're so in Christmas mood now.. We've been listening to Christmas Carols for the passed 2 weeks and finally we couldn't hold it up.. :P

Jayden was so excited that he helped out throughout the whole setup.. He helped to carry boxes, get the ornaments out, hanged them up on the tree, and even volunteered his train set as the decor.

We are very happy with the result.. Well, I am sure you can tell from his cute little face with great smile.. :o)

Merry Christmas y'all!! :o)

Blessing in Disguise

Finally, today is my last day of work!! Yay!! I am so looking forward to it. Hehehe..

Despite missing the children and the pay, I feel so happy to leave after so many months of perturbation. Worse, today found out two of our children were diagnose with HFM (Hand Foot Mouth) disease. The early symptoms would be fever, ulcers on mouth, and red spots on hands and feet.

In fact, Jayden has caught a flu since we went to the daycare yesterday. And today, there is this HFM all around the center. Well the daycare is gonna be closed for several days and resuming its operation by next week, however, I feel grateful that I put an end to this.

Now I just pray that the flu will go away fast and Jayden is not infected with the viruses. Fingers cross..

Fieldtrip to National Science Center

Holiday is here since a week ago!! As we are not planning for any getaways, I am preparing for some field trips and activities. Other than the Barney's Live experience, we are going to the National Science Center next, which I latter found out that there was an adventure of The Age of Giants (Dinosaurs) sort of like exhibition. Well, it wasn't really an exhibition but rather a fun-learning or edu-taining exposure about Dinosours.

In fact, this field trip was initiated by our best friends Yvonne & Leon (nevertheless Jayden's best friend Lucia too). The outing was a fantastic one as the BFF kids enjoyed the field trip so much and both of them had so much fun together.

After the trip, we went for a Korean lunch and the food was superb. The restaurant name is Doerae @Sri Hartamas and I'm already planning for the next dining at their branch at Bdr Puteri Puchong, which is much nearer to my place.

Attached are some pictures taken at the Center.

An End to Daycare

It was a hard decision.. I am now in the transition period.. Neither here nor there.. Perhaps it's a good time to take a break..

Finally I am cornered into a position whereas there is no turning back.. It's time to leave the daycare and go on with a better life.

It had been an enjoyable journey with the children there, though not the principal. I have been staying positive all these while thinking that things will eventually work out, even though there had been lots unfavorable incidences not worth mentioning about.

However, all these nitty gritty stuffs have finally taken a toll on me.. I am exhausted, not just that but I am also risking my son's health compromising with unreasonable excuses from the principal. Nevertheless, hubby has been urging me to quit since many month ago!

The main concern that I have all these while is still the health issue. Sick children are not sent home!!! Thus causing each and every children down with running nose and cough everyday, sometimes fever.. There was barely a day that my class is out of germ as there would at least be one sick child down with running nose or cough! :o(

Anyway, let's not talk more about it.. too negative!! Hahaha.. Well, on the bright side, finally it's all ended now. A new life, a new me..

Barney's Live Space Adventure

Daddy has left for UK this morning. However, he left us an exciting treat - Barney's Live Space Adventure for 2!! Yay!! Thanks darling! Muahh.. :o)

Jayden was excited and rather shocked the moment he saw Barney live!!! He was amazed that there was a real Barney which he always thought would only appear in the TV. Hehehe..

Attached some pictures of our adventure. :o)

Jayden's 3rd Birthday @Home

This year we are celebrating Jayden's birthday on Nov19. All I can say is.. another splendid and priceless experience!!

It is an early celebration, like 2 weeks ahead, reason being that Daddy will be flying to London on Nov26. By the time Daddy is back, Jayden's actual birth date would have passed.

Even so, Jayden and friends had a blast. The funniest discovery that we latter found out is that, 5 out of 6 of Jayden's friends are girls.

Could it mean there are more girls than boys? Or it merely means our little buddy attracts girls.. LOLs. I leave the question to you then.. :o)

My cheerful boy :o)

They are mesmerized with our birthday song :P

Look at the joy in his face!!! That's all I asked for when I throw this party for him.. It's priceless indeed.. :o)

As the school holiday is ending much earlier than the arrival of Jayden's birthday, we decided to throw a birthday party for him at Hummigbird on the last day of school. Jayden was ecstatic when he saw the brithday cake.

It was a splendid and priceless experience indeed!!

Look at his excited fists.. :P

Unstoppable Smiles.. :P

Couldn't believe his eyes..

Big warm hug for everyone :o)

Groupie with teachers and classmates :o)

Dirty Car (Part 2)

I'm keeping my promise.. After groceries in the morning, we went straight for a car wash.. And after the car wash..

Jayden: Very Good!!! The car is clean now..

Mommy: Yes, the car is so clean now.. Hehehe

Jayden: Mommy wash the car already. I wanna go home now.

Dirty Car

While we were on the way home from Small Apple just now..

Jayden: Mommy go and wash..
Mommy: Huh?? Wash?? Wash what??
Jayden: Mommy go and wash the car.
Mommy: Oh.. you want mommy to go and wash the car? Is it too dirty?
Jayden: Yes.. it is too dirty. Daddy's car not dirty. Mommy's car is too dirty.
Mommy: >_<"

Movement @Hummingbird

I was a little early for Jayden's birthday party at Hummingbird on the last day of school. While I was waiting for the birthday party to start, the little ones were busy with their movement fun.

I was deeply amused by Jayden's movements trying to follow what the teachers did. I missed some of the funniest movements but guess it's not too late to video the second half.. Hehe..

However, there are more funny things happened in this second half which is completely unexpected or perhaps unacceptable??? Check it out! :o)

Dora

Though I don't really have any special interest on Dora movies but I can't deny that it is quite an interesting yet educational children movie.

These two days, Jayden is soooo excited about Dora.. Through this one DVD, he has learned so many new things that he watched from Dora. Apparently, we are watching it now hence I am putting them down in words before I forgot. Hehehe..

A while ago, he told me he is soo scared of Swiper and insisted to have me sitting beside him.. and now right beside me he is chanting: "Swiper no swiping.. Swiper no swiping.. Swiper no swiping!" (with his hand gesturing stop!)

Oh alright.. by now he is already saying "Oh no.. Humpty Dumpty is falling down.. Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall~~"

Other than that, Dora encourages its audience to repeat the words/sentences after her, and Jayden develops quite a bit of new vocabs from Dora indeed. Not just that, it is quite interactive as Dora and the other characters always ask questions.. Again, obviously, Jayden is responding to the questions too.. Oh yea.. and Jayden will sing along with them..

I am happy with what I see and hear!! Hehehe.. Isn't it great?? Well.. I guess I just start developing some interests in Dora.. Hehehe..

Lack of confidence?

Just now Jayden was trying to tell me something while we were on the way home from Small Apple.

Jayden: "Daiant..fo.. rus"
Mommy: What's that??

After a few repeats, I finally figured what he was trying to tell me..

Jayden: "Dai..ent.. forest"
Mommy: Oh.. Do you mean to say Tyran Forest?
Jayden: Yes!!

All the sudden, he blurted this out:

Jayden: I don't know. I can't talk! (start to show his extremely sad face)

It took me some time to keep giving him positive encouragement.. Not getting a happy face yet but at least he wasn't whining anymore.. Hmm.. :S

Now that we are home and while watching Dora with him, he kept repeating that word so familiar to me.. and I know what he was saying.. It was "Giant Forest!"

3 sentences!!

Last Saturday, Jayden and I went groceries shopping, mainly buying the stuffs that we need for his birthday party at home in the evening.

While we were in the car, we had a wonderful conversation that he surprised me with his drastic improvement on his language. :o)

Mommy: Now, let's go and buy the cookies cutter.
Jayden: Oh good. Cookie cutter is waiting! (Paused for 1-2seconds) I must hurry up!!
Mommy: *dropped jaw*

Although all his sentences were short, I was dazzled! Nevertheless, he is speaking in short full sentences most of the time now.. Sometimes perfect sometimes learning.. But his language is definitely progressing well.. :o)

Haircut #2 by Mommy

This morning marked the second time Mommy cut Jayden's hair.

Right before I showered him, I did my best to persuade him for a haircut. However, it wasn't successful. So I sorta like forcefully cut his hair. Well I don't mean it was a rough experience, it was still gentle but I just disregarded his screams and cries.

Like I said, he was screaming his lung out whenever the scissors got near him. Anyway, all I managed to do was to trim the slightest bit of his hair at the back.. Sigh..

Postponed Birthday Party

Jayden supposed to have a birthday party at Hummingbird today. Early in the morning when we were all ready to go to school, I received a text message from Teacher Meithin saying that 3 of the kids were not around, two of them were Jayden's so called best friends at school.

Hesitantly, we agreed to postpone the celebration till this Friday. Then came the hardest part, that was how to deal with our little buddy. So, I calmly told Jayden that we need to postpone the party to Friday because some of his friends are not at Hummingbird today.

Before we left the house...
Mommy: We won't have the party today, we will have it on Friday OK?
Jayden: (with a face of hope) No... Today.
Mommy: Hmmm.. I see. But some of your friends can't make it today. We will have it on Friday, OK!? (end with smile)
Jayden: (showing a sad face and not looking at me) OK.

When we were in the lift...
Jayden: Daddy will come to Hummingbird later OK? (smile)
Mommy: Oh, Daddy will not come later, but he will come on Friday..OK! (smile my widest smile)
Jayden: (now he is showing a frowning face)

When we were in the car, silence filled the ambiance throughout the journey to school. I could truly feel my baby is sad.. and I was feeling guilty too.. :o(

When we were 5 minutes away from school..
Jayden: I don't wanna go to Hummingbird already..
Mommy: Oh, why not? You're going to have a lot of fun there.. And your teachers and friends will miss you..
Jayden: (paused with a face full of sadness) ... OK.. I will follow Miss Callie..

When we reached Hummingbird, he pulled me back and said he didn't wanna go to Hummingbird now. When Teacher Meithin greeted her, he threw himself away, pulled me towards the door and...
Jayden: Mommy I wanna go home now. (still pulling me)
Mommy: Oh, I'm so tired.. Can I take a rest first.. My legs are so painful..

After a short persuasion, he finally agreed. Then..
Jayden: Mommy, I wanna 'pee-pee'
Mommy: OK.. Let's go.. (along the way) How are you feeling now Jayden? Are you happy??
Jayden: No.. I am not happy..

Even Teacher Meithin couldn't believe her eyes seeing Jayden is such depressed mode. Hence, she took out his favorite Thomas and Friends toys from the secret rack in her office (that she would only let him play occasionally) to cheer him up!

After spending about 30minutes at Hummingbird, I left. My heart was squeezing.. My ever-so-happy little buddy was depressed for the first time ever! I had never seen him so sad before.. I couldn't help bursting into tears while on the way back home.. Perhaps I had made a wrong decision to postpone the celebration. I should have known how much he looked forward to it. :o(

Anyway, I felt much relief when I picked him after school. He is again a cheerful boy. Thanks Hummingbird. :o)

Our Conversation

Jayden and I had a very interesting conversation last evening while I was bathing him:

J: Mommy.. Hippo mouth is broken..
M: Huh?? Why is the hippo's mouth broken?
J: Hippo mouth arghh (*open his mouth wide).. like this.. big.. uhhh broken..
M: Oh I see.. So I believe the hippo is died right?
J: Yes.. Hippo die already..
M: Aww.. Poor thing.. But it is OK, Hippo has gone to Heaven now.. to be with God..
J: (*paused for a while.. and thinking..) No! Tai Poh (Great grandma) is in Heaven!
M: Oh.. You remember Tai Poh is in Heaven now! You sure have very good memory!
J: Tai Poh is sleeping.. cannot wake up.. go to Heaven..

Sick Child (Day 3)

Yesterday (Day 3), Jayden fever has never made a come back! Yay! And the best of all, no more vomitting!! YayYay!!!! :P

On this day, Jayden has diarrhea for 3times. The poopoo is the stinkiest ever and 2times were completely watery, didn't look like there were any solid soil at all, and it's all foamy. Yucks!!! I wonder what were those stuffs.. Yicks!!

Anyway, I am glad that the sickness is finally over. My happy and bubbly prince is making a come back!! Hehehe.. :o)

11.10.2011

Sick Child (Day 2)

Today, Jayden woke up brighter than before. Although he still looks quite weak but there is definitely improvement. Early in the morning, when I made him a glass of milk, I have no choice but to give him the suppository medicine for vomit first. It's uncomfortable so he cried. I apologize but kept reassuring him that he won't vomit after the insertion.

Right after that, he had his milk. He was fine. However, he told me that he was full throughout the day. Until around 11.30am, I fed him porridge, he only took 3-4spoon of it. Then I fed him half bowl of soup. At around 12.15pm, I fed him with half bowl of soup again as he completely refused to take porridge. At 12.30pm, he took 3quarter of a cup of milk right before his nap.

Now, he is taking his nap, and I hope he will wake up feeling much better with an improved appetite. Just now when I was putting on his diaper for him, I felt so sad and almost burst into cry seeing how much weight he had lost in just a day!! But I just told him calmly that he should eat more when he wakes up later, if he could.

I really hope he will eat some porridge when he wakes up. Fingers cross..

Sick Child

Taking care of a sick child has always been a nightmare.. Unfortunately, the nightmare is here.

On Tuesday noon, I found him with high fever right after his nap. Soon enough, his fever shot as high as 39.3C. I wasn't really worried about fever, as fever is a sign of boosting his immune system.

We still went to Small Apple on that day. With lots of fluid, his fever had gone down quite drastically around dinner time and outdoor play. The fever was barely there. I was relieved.

However, the real nightmare came haunting after. In the evening, his fever has gone even higher. And it stays till the next morning. Jayden was so weak that he told me he didn't wanna go to Hummingbird and Small Apple, he wanted to take a rest at home. Well, I would have done so even without him telling me that, but having him telling me that meant he really wasn't feeling well at all! :o(

He took his AM milk around 8am, and he had some snacks throughout the hour after. At around 9am plus, he puked. Initially I didn't found it a big deal as I thought he might have taken too much food.

When it comes to lunch, he had good appetite. But, he vomited again!! This time it really got me a little worried. He hardly vomited twice a day though. The bad news is, he refused to eat after that. So he went for his nap with an empty-stomach. :o(

Upon waking up from his nap, he was hungry!! So I fed him some porridge again. This time, his appetite has gone down. After a few spoons, he told me he was 'bao bao' (full). I didn't force him to eat more. I went to take a shower after, and suddenly he rushed into the bathroom and threw up on the toilet bowl. I was worried but rather glad that he was smart enough to vomit in the toilet bowl, and this time the vomit is not a lot. Later did I find out that he actually vomited all his porridge on the floor!! I was so upset that he vomited the third time!

Asked him whether he was hungry, he said no. I'm so sad to see him suffering this hunger. :o( Later, I told him that we must go and see a doctor. He refused, and I reassured him that the doctor would be able to tell why he was vomiting with high fever, and I told him the questions that he should ask the doctor. He agreed finally.

We reached the Dr Koe's clinic at 6pm and got him registered. We're the 8th patient on waiting list and the nurse told us that the doctor would come in shortly. We might have to wait till 7pm for our turn. Toys temptation is always hard to resist for a young toddler so Jayden played there for about 20minutes before we decided to go for a walk. Then, Jayden told me that he was hungry and he wanted to eat "mee mee" (noodle).

I bought a bowl of noodle at the hawker stall nearby, after 1 spoon of noodle, he told me that he didn't like it and he wanted to eat something else. So I fed him with mushroom and some vegetarian "meat". He took about 3bites followed by barley drink. As expected, he vomited again!!! I was quite devastated though I didn't show it. I feel like crying seeing him suffering that much. :o(

Finally, I didn't finish the bowl of noodle as I wasn't really hungry. We then left for a walk in the local pharmacy store. He asked for a chocolate wafer and I bought it. I was so happy that he finished it without vomiting!! :o)

We went back to the clinic at around 7pm, and it was a long night!! We waited till 835pm for our turn. It's unbelievable but it's true! Anyway, the doctor said there could be viruses in his tummy and intestines. So she gave him some medicine for vomit and ORS.

On the way home, I called up daddy to buy some food for Jayden as he was asking for char siew pao and noodle. I got daddy to buy a pack of milo and vitagen too, just in case those are the form of liquid he might consider taking.

After taking a shower, daddy was back! So eagerly, daddy prepared the food and got him to eat. He took a bite of char siew pao and refused to eat, and completely refused the noodle. Then he took a bottle of vitagen (cultured drink). Very sadly, he vomited again. There gone all the vitagen and chocolate wafer. :o(

At last, right before bedtime, we made him half cup of milk (greentea oatmilk) and he finished it. I am glad that he had at least something before bed, though it is too minimal.

Thomas Birthday Cake?

Yesterday night while on the way home from Small Apple, I asked Jayden:

Mommy: Jay, do you wanna Thomas and Friends birthday cake?
Jayden: No............. I wanna play Thomas...... Thomas toy..... Mommy buy Thomas friends toys.....
Mommy: >.<" (sigh in my heart... Thomas toys again!!)

Birthday Party? Yes or No?

Jayden told me that he wanted a party yesterday night. I am still perturbating whether I should hold a party for him. I guess the answer is yes.. as 3y/o is the time children really gets to know stuffs especially birthday and parties.. Hmmm.. I guess I'm just gonna hold a simple "Kids Birthday Party".

I told Daddy about it this morning.. And Daddy said "Don't expect me to do anything.. I'm very busy. You hold it!!"

Oh boy.. Loads of works for mommy again.. >.<"

Quote of the Day

Just now I was having a hard time getting Jayden to take his shower. So when we finally were in the bathroom...

Mommy: So, is Jayden a naughty boy?
Jayden: No.
Mommy: Then who is the naughty boy?
Jayden: DogDog (our poodle!!)
Mommy: *speechless*

35months and growing..

It's been a while I didn't note down Jayden's milestone due to busy-ness and exhaustion from work.. I feel rather guilty but it's not worth feeling guilty though so I am feeling rather better now. :P

Make it short and simple, these are the recent things that I remember, probably it's only 10% of what I intended to write but better than none.

At 35months, Jayden behaves like this:
  1. Start to develop slight interest in art and craft, which he apparently didn't like few months ago
  2. Loving music very much.. not just kids song
  3. Start to develop interest in musical instrument, highly obviously ----> DRUM!!!
  4. Jumping and tiptoeing are like his second nature now, but standing on one foot, think twice!
  5. Starting to call his friends as "my friends" and Hummingbird "my school" now
  6. Extremely little sleep, only 8-9hours at night and 2-2.5hours nap (he is extremely exhausted during nap time vastly due to lack of sleep during night time)
  7. Social skill is more prominent now that he insists to play with friends sometimes, his over-friendliness sometimes causes his peers to think he is too aggressive
  8. His love for Thomas and friends has never changed :P
  9. Distinctive attitude ---> stubborn and pretty strong headed
  10. Insists on his wants and needs (headache for us!!)
  11. Nominated Drama King for his pretentious emotional expressions that appear real most of the time
  12. Better speech, though not perfect yet but it's shown lots of improvement
  13. Very cheeky, there was a time when his grandpa (gong-gong) gave him a Thomas bag, he told gong-gong that he liked and wanted that bag, quickly cleared all the stuffs from his current back and stuffed them inside the Thomas bag. Then, he told gong-gong he didn't want the old bag, running around looking for dustbin and when heard us saying he shouldn't throw it, he put the old bag into the dust bag (of Thomas) and handed it over to gong-gong and said "Nah gong-gong, I don't need this"
  14. Is getting pickier with food now.. Other than his favorite vegetables, he also likes sausages now
  15. Have higher tolerant with allergy food now, hope he will grow out of them soon
  16. His favorite quotes "What's this, mommy?", "I don't wanna take shower", "I don't need!", "It's mine", "Go away", "....Please...." (sounds like peace), "Don't touch!", "I say....", the list goes on.. :o)
  17. Is good with alphabets, numbers and phonics (according to his teachers)
  18. Often time will wake up searching for mommy if I wasn't on the bed at night
  19. Wake up almost the same time early every morning like there is an internal alarm in him
  20. Very hyper and super excited at night - nonstop talking, singing, rolling, jumping on us, etc
  21. Insist to read a few favorite books before going to bed

10.16.2011

Perth Trip (Part 2)

On the following days, I would say a visit to the Caversham Wildlife Park was Jayden's most enjoyable trip ever.. He got to sit on his favorite choo-choo train, well not exactly a train but a tram that is good enough to make his day! :P

Jayden: "All Aboard!!!"

Checking out the tracks..

Jayden said the controller is Sir Topham Hatt

Yum yum Ice Cream

Not just that, for the first time ever, he (us too!) got to pat and hug the kangaroos, watch the kangaroos hopping around, hug the wombat, pat the koala, feed animals like Llama, donkeys, rabbits and well, being in a farm to meet those animals he only sees in books!! :P When we were thirsty and tired, we had fish and chips for our lunch and some freezing ice cream despite the cold weather.. yum!! :P

Our buddy lost control.. :P

I forgot what it is.. It has hard scales and soft feet

Lazy wombat!! Hehhe

Feeding Llama and Donkey..

Cute huggable Koalas!! :o)

Other than that, we got to Fremantle, a scenic harbour and market I would say. All I can say is it's such a beautiful place with great food.. We got to try the 'chili mussels', authentic pizza and in house brew beer @The Little Creature, which was highly recommended by Gobie. Yum!! :o)
Enjoying ice cream..

Lovely..

A very happy family.. :o)

Authentic Pizza.. Jayden has stolen all the sundried tomatoes

Chili Mussels - We forgot to take a pix before having, this is the end result.. LOLs

The next thing we did was to visit our migrant friends.. So little did we know that we have so many friends there.. Well, that's with a bit of exaggeration.. Hehehe.. We paid a visit to all friends that Jayden called Uncles.. Uncle Lai & family, Uncle Donald and family, Uncle Aaron and family, and nevertheless Uncle Thomas! :o)

Uncle Lai bakes the best scones! :o)

Jayden's new friend "Baby Daniel" :o)

Last but not least, we had a great time at some vineyards trying out wines and chocolates at the Margaret River Chocolate Factory.. We bought some yummy chocolates there and Jayden had the sweetest time of all! Many many thanks to Uncle Aaron for spending a day bringing us all around these fab places.. Hehehe.. :P

Uncle Aaron's very yummy "Roti Paratha"

Yummy Chocs..

Our little treats.. Hehehe.. :P

On our very last day, Gobie has brought us around exploring the city centre to places we have not touched like the famous Bell Tower and others. After that, we have a cool time chilling out at the Wembley Community Golf Course which is right opposite Gobie's house about 10-15min walk away.. That's the place that I got drunk when Gobie insisted to buy me a glass of red wine which I just finished half.. Imagine.. I dropped on the floor.. It was that bad!! Well, it's one of the most memorable experience in my life..

Jayden @Bell Tower, Perth

Honey and Gobie, our best host ever!!

Me @Bell Tower :o)

Jayden got soaked from top to toes after playing.. :S

A cozy gathering at the golf club.. Saw that wine!? :P

Life is great having great friends all around us.. It's such a blessing.. :o)
