Swim Lesson 1

Jayden has a new breakthrough today!

At 9.30am this morning, Jayden attended his first swimming lesson. Sure enough, Jayden has gotten a shocked, nevertheless Mommy was shocked too!!!

Imagine I have to practically drown Jayden in the water, even though it was just for a little while.. Ouch!!! And there was like no chance for him to say NO, even though he kept saying NOooooo..

There were about 6 toddlers in the class and about 3 of them were wailing.. Jayden was one of them!! Gulping in a lot of chlorine water, lots of NO NO NO and wailing throughout the session.. :o(

Anyway, the lesson was quite an interesting one. We started with "blowing bubbles", it was an activities with some squeaky toys and we demonstrate to them how to blow bubbles in the water.

Then, we had some songs trying to settle the young toddlers in the water, particularly Mulberry Bush as a start to we can wash their faces and hair. LOLs... It was a nasty experience as the water was considerably cold this morning!

We also have The Wheels on the Bus to let them experience the movements of legs and arms in the water. And worst, we have Ring-a-Rosie where we slightly drown them for them to learn to "blow bubbles". Yicks!

On the other hand, we took turns to let the toddlers swim over to the instructor, it was about 0.5m-1m distant. Yup, face down in the water with lotsa drinking too.. Jayden was choking and coughing after that session! :o(

The easiest would be to have Jayden one-hand holding the bar, the other holding my hand, and asked him to release the hand on the bar and hold my other hand. Then Jayden has to climb up to the side of the pool and then jump into the water on the count of 3!! Apparently he didn't jump in until I stretched my hands around his arms. LOLs..

Hmmm.. I hope he will enjoy his next lesson more.. Hehehe.. :P
