Wean Off @32 Months

Finally.. I have weaned off Jayden when he was about 32months. It's all started about 2 weeks ago that I decided to try not to breastfeed him at night. Surprisingly, it worked out quite well and Jayden didn't ask for milk. Perhaps he was too full as I fed him a lot of food prior to sleep. Hehe..

It went on for a 2days, and I started feeding him again as he was sick!! There were couples of times he puked after drinking oatmilk+protein (well, I have been supplementing him with oatmilk + green tea protein for almost a year now). Never really got to find out the reasons behind the pukes, maybe it's due too overeating?? Anyways, since he didn't puke two times in a row and was eating as usual, I didn't take much notice.

Then, I started weaning him off again last week.. and it went perfectly well! Sometimes he would still ask for milk but I told him that mommy didn't have milk anymore and he would respond with a simple Okay! I am gratitude!! :o)

By now, I think I have weaned him off successfully for 7-10days, I have lost track! :P Even so, I am very happy with the result and guess what, my breasts do not engorge anymore, so I assume the milk production has stopped ever since.

No longer breastfeeding my son gives me a weird feeling somehow.. I guess I miss the days of breastfeeding though it was really exhausting..

Weaning Off

I guess it is a sign of weaning off naturally.. or baby led weaning.. :o)

Recently, I have not been breastfeeding Jayden as frequent as before. Only 1-3 times a day.. Sometimes, only 1 time that is the feeding before sleep.

For some reasons, Jayden has been asking for his favorite 'green tea oat milk' in the morning instead of breastmilk, and when he requests for midnight milk, I just have to tell him that mommy doesn't have any milk anymore and he will settle down with just some water. If he happens to be too hungry, he will ask for his fav 'green tea oat milk' again. :P

I like how this whole weaning process works.. gradually and naturally.. Hope someday soon Jayden will tell mommy he doesn't wanna drink breastmilk before sleep.. Heheheh.. :o)

Weaning or Not?

Very soon Jayden will turn 2.5y/o. I was initially planning to wean off my little baby when he is around 2.5years and now it seems the time is approaching soon. However, I found no reason to wean him off, considering he is still allergic to cow's milk.

I guess the answer will still be no for the moment. I might only wean him off when we are planning for #2. Let's hope I can produce a better immunity milk so Jayden will grow out of his food allergies as soon as possible. :o)
