Talking in Sentence

It's been 3 days JJ is talking (babbling) in sentence! I strongly believe he is trying to convey his 'long' message to me! And this is just the initial stage.. it is definitely a new milestone for JJ! :)

JJ can also pronounce his own name. He normally starts his so-called sentence with the word "Jhey jhey (JJ)". He will also called himself Jayden.. though it is not exactly like the way we pronounce it, he still sounds like a baby.. from his intonation, you can tell he is saying Jayden (Yes! His intonation is exactly the same as the way we pronounce Jayden!! That's why we can tell...). It's amazing!!! :)

Not just that, JJ even can communicate with me now. Like today JJ was trying to leap (almost) off the bed to get something that he wanted. However, he drewback knowing that he might fall. Hehe.. I leaned to him and ask him.. "Hey JJ, do you think you can fly to get those things?" And to my utmost surprise, he answered "Yea." I was laughing my heart out!! :P

And the funniest incident of all.. which surprised all of us in the family. Yesterday JJ was playing with Aunty Lily and Bryan (JJ's cousin) suddenly disturbed JJ. Aunty Lily shooed Bryan off by saying 'Zhao Zhao Zhao' (in Hokkien). And the most stunning thing that ever happened was.. in less than 3 seconds, JJ was saying "Zhao Zhao Zhao Zhao" (with the exact intonation as Aunty Lily's and the pronounciation is surprisingly accurate!). We were so shocked that Aunty Lily was looking at me and I was looking at her too.. Hahaha.. :P

Speaking as a mommy, I am super happy with JJ's milestone and achievement. He is putting his foot on the next stage I believe. :)

Tissue and Leaflet

Today I have been very reckless.. In the afternoon, I was so busy with my work (though only for a good hour or so) that I did not notice that Jayden got some tissue papers from God knows where it was and put them into his mouth.. Well, I did manage to dig out (the remaining??) the tissues from his mouth. I hope that's all he chunked into his mouth (not the remaining only!!!).

As terrible as I felt, the history repeated again in the evening!!! Just now, he was playing with a piece of leaflet. I saw him grabbing it and I thought just give him a minute to smash the leaflet while I get my things done first. Who know he was real fast.. By the time I turned my head around he was chewing and swallowing something yummy!! For Godsake I immediately took away the leaflet and found a fraction of it was gone.. it was nowhere to be found so I am very sure the balance is in Jayden's tummy.. that was barely less than a minute!! :(

I feel so terrible now.. I need to be extra careful and cautious about what goes into Jayden's hands will ultimately go into his mouth!

Drink from a Beaker

Until now, Jayden still refuses to use bottle with a teat. Therefore, we have no choice but to keep on feeding him with a spoon or let him drink from a cup (his favorite method to drink water!). Unfortunately, sometimes things tend to be too messy especially feeding him with water while we are travelling in a car! :(

On the other hand, he still likes his beaker.. but we hardly let him drink water from the beaker because the flow is quite strong and he tends to choke.. Fortunately, J has been having no problem drinking from his beaker.. I am very happy because we are waving bye-bye to mess-in-the-car! :)

NO!

Guess what happened today? Jayden begins to like the water!! He was enjoying the bathing time so much that he refused to leave the baby tub this morning! When I lifted him up, he will quick as lightning grab any toys that he can get from the water. Then, he will twist and turn so hard and reach his feet into the water and try to sit inside the tub of water again! Heheh..

It's quite a surprise to me that in fact Jayden understands the big word NO. A lot of people told me that baby still doesn't understand what it means when you say "no" to them but well.. Whether I say the word "NO" in English or Cantonese, he still understands it. Thus, everytime I said NO he will pause for a while, look at me and continue doing what he supposed to be doing again. Haha.. Therefore, normally after saying NO, I will ask him to "Come to Mommy", again, whether it's English or Cantonese, he understands well! Hence, he will crawl to me. It works almost everytime! I'm glad! :))

Cheeky & Naughty

My little Jayden is getting cheekier and naughtier these days! There isn't a minute that he will sit still.. even when I am carrying him, he will twist and turn till my hands sore!! Ouch!! :(

On the other hand, my little precious is also growing smarter! Things start to make sense to him, mentally and physically. It's indeed an amazing experience seeing him exploring and learning new things everyday, from stages to stages. :)

On Sunday, we were doing groceries when we came across a huge baby playgym.. We didn't put much thought into it before we decided that we wanna buy one for Jayden!

However, Jayden refused to be put inside the playgym.. seperation enxiety I think.. since he is all alone inside the playgym! Guess he needs some time to get used to it.. :)

Growing Up Learning Fast

I am trying to recall things that I wanna put down here before my memories faded off! I've got so much to write that I really don't know where to start...

Jayden has been enjoying his bathing time far more than before.. it happened since few 2-3 weeks ago if I am not mistaken. Now, during bathing time, he enjoys splashing the water, playing with the soap and watching it slipping from his hands, playing with ducky and his 'bear bear' sponge.. and yes, he starts to want more companion at bath!! :P

Jayden has also became so mobile that he now can stand and cruise so much better while holding on furniture.. He learned how to bend his knees and how to sit while standing and holding on furniture; he will also tip-toe when he wanna reach for something that's far from his reach i.e. outside the baby cot, and vice versa.

When I give him his basket of toys, he will search for his favorite toys from the basket by himself. I am trying to teach him to put the toys back into the basket after every play session. Hehe :)

Water Bed

I haven't been writing down anything due to.. LAZINESS! :(
Thus, there are so many things that I missed out for the passed....... 2 weeks???

We have bought J a new "water bed" which is cooling when sleep on it. It is very effective and comes in really handy to counter high fever. Well, that's the reason why we bought it, and you know that it's been weeks Jayden recovered from high fever, so you can imagine how long I haven't been blogging.. Hehehe

I like it when Jayden shows us how much he likes the bed.. At night, he will purposely crawl to the water bed and sleeps on it to show that he wanna go to bed! Not just that, he will then crawl to me and sweep his face gently on on face few times (you can imagine how a little kitten sweeps its face against you and that's exactly how Jayden will do it!). It's so sweet that it melts my heart each time he does that. :)

Then, he will sleep on me! Yes, on me! He will pull me at the same time and then roll back to the water bed.. Hmmm.. how can I not understand!!? :P That's his sign language that he wanna go to bed! :)

Cruising While Holding On

Recently, J has been showing a lot of improvements on his skills.. His interest is maily on his newly acquired skills - cruising while holding onto a certain object.. i.e. furniture. :)

Not long ago J started to pull himself to standing position. And recently, he has been continuously showing us that he can cruise while holding on to something! That practically means he is very near to walking! WooHoo~~

Indeed, I am surprised that J can cruise at his speed.. looking at the way he crawl.. Well, he hardly crawl, I think partly due to his laziness. Hahaha.. :P

One funny thing that I found is, J refused to crawl on tummy.. Since day 1 he started crawling, he crawled with his belly off the ground.. Even until now, he has never crawled with his belly sweeping the floor.. I heard from a friend that this is called clean-freak baby. LOL!

J also starts displaying his milestone of banging the toys on each other to make some noise.. after investing a lot of hardwork to show him how to bang them together. Hehehe..

Other than his newly acquired skills, J is still very much enjoying his favourite game: peek-a-boo! I am running out of ideas on what other games to play with J to stimulate his brain development.. other than get him to play with his toys.

He starts to get really bored with all his toys now.. He will hold a toy for a minute or so before picking another one and it goes on and on and after a few toys, he will moved away or start shouting for attention.

Happy Happy

Yay! FInally the fever is gone! I am so happy that my Mr Happy Little Boy is back again with all his smiles and laughters.. :)

Lately, he has been showing us a lot of imitating actions.. especially those that he really enjoys. For example, he will come to me, cup his mouth on my skin, and then blow air out to tickle me and of course, to make that brrrr brrrr sound too! :P

Not just that, few days ago while in the midst of playing, suddenly Daddy scratched his legs. Guess what happened? JJ leaned forward and placed his hand on Daddy's leg and then... SCRATCHED!!!

How lovely looking at our little boy growing up from stages to stages.. It's such a wonderful thing for parents like us... :)

High Fever

It's been 2 days J had high fever.. I really can't wait for the fever to go away soon..

J has been grumpy and moody since then. He has been showing discomfort and I believe it is due to the severe teething.

Since he was just 4 months old, he has started drooling with his saliva all over his hands, shirts, toys, etc. We thought he should be having a tooth pretty soon but we were wrong.. It takes a long time for the tooth to surface.

Now that he is already 9 months, he didn't drool as much as the passed few months, but it is pretty obvious that the discomfort from the gums is nothing less..

All I hope is the fever to go off soon so my Happy Baby will smile to me again as he usually does..
